InvestigationsPFAS in Arizona

Arizona's water. Arizona's fight.

PFAS contamination touches communities across our state — from the West Valley around Luke Air Force Base, where families are receiving bottled water, to Tucson wells shut down years ago. Blueshoe is an Arizona firm investigating potential claims for the Arizonans who lived it. This is the community-by-community record.

Monument Valley, Arizona.

WHAT WE ARE INVESTIGATING

Six Arizona communities. One documented pattern.

Every fact below comes from public records: state environmental data, federal cleanup reports, and congressional correspondence.

What happened at Luke Air Force Base (West Valley)?

Firefighting-foam training contaminated groundwater around the base. Unsafe PFAS levels were confirmed in area water supplies in 2021; testing in winter 2024–25 still found PFAS in drinking water serving roughly 9,000 people. The Air Force has distributed bottled water to surrounding families — and the cleanup, once due to finish, has been pushed back to 2032.

In March 2025, Luke-area residents joined the national PFAS litigation in federal court, seeking damages and long-term medical monitoring. Glendale, Litchfield Park, Goodyear, and El Mirage sit in the affected area.

What is Tucson's PFAS history?

Tucson shut down three drinking-water wells on its northwest side in 2016 after PFAS tests exceeded federal health advisories. Contamination linked to Tucson International Airport and the Morris Air National Guard base keeps a treatment plant offline, the base investigation timeline has slipped to 2047, and the City of Tucson has filed its own lawsuit over the contamination. Davis-Monthan Air Force Base has also been flagged as a significant PFAS source.

Which other Arizona communities are affected?

Bases near Yuma, Sierra Vista (Fort Huachuca), and Flagstaff are among more than 170 sites nationwide facing cleanup delays of up to 20 years — a delay Senator Mark Kelly publicly demanded answers about in July 2026. If you lived or worked near any Arizona military installation or airport with firefighting operations, your water history is worth checking.

Who would an Arizona PFAS claim actually be against?

The manufacturers — 3M, DuPont and its successors, and other foam makers — not the military or your city. Lawsuits allege these companies knew PFAS health risks for decades. That distinction matters: it is what lets service members, base workers, and neighboring families pursue claims in the consolidated federal litigation.

WHO MAY QUALIFY

You may be eligible to have your potential claim evaluated if:

Criteria specific to Arizona's documented contamination — every submission is evaluated, free, by an Arizona-licensed attorney.

West Valley residence

Lived in Glendale, Litchfield Park, Goodyear, El Mirage, or elsewhere near Luke AFB — especially on water systems in the documented contamination area — for an extended period.

Tucson-area exposure

Lived or worked near Tucson International Airport, the Morris Air National Guard base, or Davis-Monthan — or were on Tucson's affected northwest-side water before the 2016 well closures.

Yuma, Sierra Vista & Flagstaff

Lived, worked, or served near the affected installations in these communities, where cleanup investigations face multi-year delays.

A linked diagnosis

Diagnosed with kidney cancer, testicular cancer, thyroid disease or thyroid cancer, or ulcerative colitis after Arizona exposure.

Arizona firefighters

Career or volunteer firefighters anywhere in Arizona with regular AFFF exposure — municipal, airport, or military — and a qualifying diagnosis.

Private wells & family claims

Your private well tests high for PFAS near a documented source, or you lost a family member to a qualifying illness after years in an affected community.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU CONTACT US

Four steps. No surprises.

01

Short questionnaire

You share contact information and basic facts only — no detailed medical records or narratives at this stage.

02

Conflicts check

We confirm the firm can ethically evaluate your potential claim.

03

Investigation agreement

If your information meets the criteria, we may offer a limited-scope investigation agreement — an agreement for us to investigate and evaluate a potential claim. Signing it does not mean a lawsuit has been or will be filed.

04

Next steps, together

If and when a viable claim is developed, we contact you to discuss next steps — which may include associating with a lawyer licensed in your state.

No fee unless you recover

There is no cost to submit your information. If we agree to represent you, representation is on a contingency-fee basis — no attorneys’ fee unless there is a recovery. You may remain responsible for costs in some circumstances; the written agreement controls.

Common questions

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality publishes PFAS data for public water systems, including the Luke AFB area, and utilities now report test results. Part of our evaluation is matching your address and service history against those public records — you don't need to figure it out alone before submitting.
