Matthew R. Story

Matt Story learned the firm from the file room up. He joined Gage Mathers as a paralegal in 2018, worked as a law clerk through law school, and returned as an attorney in 2024. Along the way, under Martin Mathers and Joe D’Aguanno, he helped secure tens of millions of dollars in recoveries for the firm’s clients.

At Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law he was inducted into the Order of Barristers, won the 2023 Oplinger-Blake Opening Argument Competition, competed on the mock trial team, and earned certificates in Trial Advocacy and in Law, Science, and Technology, along with the Willard H. Pedrick Scholar Award. He holds a B.A. in Government from Hamilton College.

The youngest of five, raised in western Colorado, Matt is licensed in Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico. His practice is motor vehicle accidents, dog bites, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death, and clients note that he takes cases other firms decline. In the Blueshoe network, he is often the first trial lawyer on an injury matter.
